- Get 3 Cups Water
- Take 3⁄4 Cup Red Lentils (rinsed, same as you do for rice)
- Get 1⁄4 Cup Yellow Lentils (split peas) (rinsed)
- Take 1 TBSP Tomato Paste
- Get 1⁄2 tsp Garam Masala
- Get Lemon juice to taste
- Prepare Chopped Cilantro (optional)
- Prepare Chopped fresh Spinach (optional)

Then stir in garlic, ginger, cumin, turmeric, curry powder, garam masala, cayenne, and mustard seeds, and cook for another minute until fragrant. This dish is going to make your home smell AMAZING! - Press the SAUTE button to heat the Instant Pot. When hot, add Ghee, swirl around until shimmering.
- Add Cumin seed and Hing. When Cumin Seed sizzles, add Onion, Garlic and Ginger. Mix well, saute 1 minute.
- Add Turmeric, Red Chili powder, and Salt. Mix well.
- Turn OFF pot by pressing CANCEL.
- Add Lentils, Water and Tomato Paste. Mix well.
- Pressure Cook on HIGH for 6 minutes. After cooking is complete, RELEASE NATURALLY until float valve drops. (Approx 6 minutes in a 6-quart pot; approx 15 minutes in a 3-quart pot.
- Add Garam Masala and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Top with fresh spinach or cilantro if desired. Enjoy!
